Why I Started Coaching: From Experience to Empowerment

Seven years ago—exactly to this month—I found myself in a state of deep numbness.
Every day looked the same: wake up, go to work, come back home, repeat. Safe, routine, predictable—and completely uninspiring. I felt bored, disconnected, stuck in my head. I wasn’t pursuing hobbies, didn’t have meaningful social connections, and I wasn’t doing anything that lit me up.
I remember it clearly—I just wanted to improve my social skills and build a circle of friends. But at 38, making new connections felt harder than ever. I didn’t know how to break free from the numbness. I didn’t know where to begin, who to turn to, or how to take that first step toward change—to feel alive again.
Something inside me whispered:
"There’s more to life than this. You’re meant to guide, not just exist."
I started to question everything:
Is that all there is? Get a job, get married, have kids—and that’s it? It felt like something important was missing, like a vital piece of the puzzle was out of place.
Looking back now, I understand what I couldn’t see then:
I was missing purpose. And men thrive on purpose.
Take that away, and we slowly deteriorate—physically, mentally, spiritually.
A Journey Inward
I turned to therapy. For three years, it gave me the tools to see more clearly. Once I could finally breathe again, I realized that before I could find my purpose—I had to fix myself first.
I was naïve, overly trusting, emotionally reactive, with low confidence and poor self-esteem. I constantly sought validation, I followed others’ opinions, I avoided decisions. I wasn’t leading. I wasn’t even leading my own life.
When people asked me what I wanted, I had no answer. It was easier to let others decide for me. I didn’t know what I liked, what I needed, or who I really was. I was lost—numb and detached from my own desires.
Movies were my escape (they still are). I loved stepping into the shoes of lead characters—people who knew what they wanted and went after it. People who led their own lives.
And then one day, I decided:
It’s time to LEAD mine.
Awakening Through Curiosity
I’ve always believed in karma, in the idea that things arrive in your life when you're ready for them.
Back then, I didn’t even know what a podcast was. But through a new acquaintance, I discovered them—and soon I was hooked. I downloaded Spotify, explored podcast apps, and immersed myself in TED Talks and personal development podcasts. Hundreds of speeches and episodes opened my mind and challenged my perspective.
Books came next—but reading at night just didn’t work for me. I’d fall asleep after a single page. So, I tried audiobooks. That’s when I discovered Audible. Since then, I’ve listened to over 200 audiobooks, with more than 100 still in my wishlist.
Everything I consumed pointed toward one thing:
Becoming a better version of myself.
I was no longer satisfied with being a passive follower. I wanted to become an empowered Leader—first for myself, then for others.
The Turning Point
In 2020, a friend introduced me to Toastmasters. Once again, life sent me exactly what I needed. I joined, and it transformed how I communicated, how I presented myself, and how I connected. Their mission—“empowering individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders”—resonated deeply.
Then in 2021, I stumbled upon coaching. At first, I wasn’t even sure what it was. But I followed the pull, signed up for training, and quickly realized:
This is what I’m meant to do.
Even during training, I could feel the shift. Coaching wasn’t just a skill—it was a way of life. It made me a better person, a better partner, a better father, a better citizen—and most importantly, a better Leader.
Constantly Growing
I still consider myself a work in progress. There’s always more to learn, more to explore, more ways to grow. That’s why I named my practice “Constant Growing.”
Yes, it’s a play on my name—and it’s also a personal truth I live by:
Never stop learning. Never stop evolving. Never stop growing.
Today, I’m a Leadership coach helping Business owners, Entrepreneurs and Founders shift to empowered impactful Leaders, from invisible to recognized, from burnout to clarity, from reactive to intentional.
Through a holistic approach—body, mind, and spirit—I support them in building a Leadership mindset that’s rooted in presence, not just performance.
Because leadership isn’t about doing more.
It’s about becoming more.
